FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
I am extremely sentimental and it is important to me that you don't just get the smiling photos, but all the ones in between as well. My goal is for you to remember the way you are today because life can change so quickly. I do however make sure you're getting the best of the best. For a mini session you will receive 75+ images, a full or extended family session 150+, and weddings are around 75+ images per hour.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
I like to be as flexible as I can for families with newborns. With lifestyle photos the age of the baby is less important than with posed photos. The most important thing is that mom is feeling up to photos. I usually check in around the due date and have you reach out when you're feeling good enough for pictures either in my studio or your home. These sessions usually take place in the first 1-6 weeks but I have also done them for 3 month olds.
How should we dress for our family session?
It usually works to dress one person first, aka mom or the bride! Pick your outfit and then go for complimentary textures, layers, patterns for everyone else. Dresses are always flattering and flowy fabrics can make some fun photos. Wear something that fits your personality. Use more than one tone after you start with a foundation color. Avoid bright colors, distracting clothing and logos. Remember to dress for the season!
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?
When it comes time for your session, just relax and have fun. It’s my job to get the kids smiling and having fun!! It helps if the adults keep eyes on me, so we don’t miss the kids smiling! My sessions are very organized and efficient. I take a LOT of pictures, but move very quickly through each pose to keep everyone’s attention. The session will start with all the must have poses then move to the more fun and playful shots. Just enjoying the time with your family is the best thing you can do!
It’s more than okay to feel nervous: Please know that I do not expect you to be models. My job is to direct you in a way that helps you relax, feel natural, and be your true comfortable selves in front of my lens. You do not need to practice poses, study Pinterest pins, or let the nerves take over. If you focus on the fact that you're spending time with your loved ones and the relationship you have together I’m sure the end result will be something you will love!
